Silver Lining in American Economic Crisis: Our Enemies Have It Worse
The ability of America and its free allies to defend themselves from enemies, foreign and domestic, is jeapordized severely by the financial and economic crisis. That is the bad news.
The good news is this: The crisis is hitting worldwide and it is especially severe in controlled economies, and worse yet in economies that are highly dependent on exports to the consumerist West or on oil exports. The democratic free societies in the West are now in a relatively strengthened position. The following three news reports detail how frail are the economies of the most notable enemies.
The free world may hope for despots to suffer political losses as well as financial ones as their props of high oil prices and cheap labor disappear.

They already socialized the US Auto Industry, and now they want to nationalize it.

Rebranding Obama
The other day, Nicholas Kristof of the NY Times wrote a piece called "Rebranding the U.S. with Obama". http://www.nytimes.com/…/23kristof.html?_r=1&… . American doesn't need re-branding. It just needs the truth to be told about it. The only re-branding going on is Obama's. Kristof's conclusion is this:
"Yet if this election goes as the polls suggest, we may find a path to restore America’s global influence — and thus to achieve some of our international objectives — in part because the world is concluding that Americans can, after all, see beyond a person’s epidermis. "
The author's conclusion is pure nonsense. Firstly, America's anti-black racism has not existed for more than a generation (20 years). When I moved from the north to the South 5 years ago, I expected to find lots of hatred for blacks. Even among rednecks, I found that it is just a memory. They've grown out of it. Class distinctions of course remain, but even that is disappearing. America is one big racially mixed middle class. The rich have middle class mores and so do the poor. I encourage you to read Thomas Sowell's book about the history and sociology of racism around the world, especially the USA, "Black Rednecks and White Liberals". Sowell is an historian at Stanford Univ... and he is black.
Secondly, it cannot be on America's list of responsibilities to teach foreigners the exact nature of America. A world trained in dogmas about America is expected to misunderstand its culture.
Thirdly, the danger with Obama is that his followers want him precisely for the color of his skin. They ignore his background, his ideology, his intentions, his friends, and his lack of experience. Fourthly, elites like Powell and Greenspan who have endorsed him in recent days think that they can control this man after he is in office.... that he will listen to them as mentors. I don't believe it will happen. In Germany of the 1930's, the elites believed they could control Hitler. Look what happened. The Democrat party will wake up on November 5th and slowly begin to realize that they have created a monster that is beyond their ability to control.
Alan Greenspan, one of the most conceited men alive, said today that he is in a "state of shocked disbelief" over the economic situation. This is the same Greenspan who served four presidents as Fed chief and thinks, according to his biography, that he is one of the smartest men alive when it comes to finance.
I hate to say it, but he's a Republican, not that this makes any difference. His friends are mostly liberal and he takes great pride in that. He's the kind of Republican you find on the Upper East Side of Manhattan... ones that are Republican in name only. He holds almost nothing in common with the heart of the Republican party, philosophically... he is completely tone-deaf to Republican ideals. In his biography, Greenspan brags about how was able to manipulate economic incentives with monetary policy...... all while thinking he is enlightened and serving a higher cause. Pure liberal elitism.
So now he comes down from his ivory tower to say how sorry he is that he did not see the economic meltdown coming. Incredible how he now says "he “made a mistake” in trusting that free markets could regulate themselves without government oversight." The problem is the opposite... that government incentivized and compelled bankers to accept poor credit borrowers. More than any other American, Greenspan is responsible for the mess. He abandoned ship just as it was starting to sink, and left the mess to Bernanke to clean up.
What is worse is that the line he's now giving is not the Republican line, but rather the Democrat line. Our problem was not financial derivatives and the regulation thereof, but rather the underlying loans themselves. Again, does anyone believe that Alan Greenspan is in "shocked disbelief" What a load ! Frankly, I had been ready to disccount Greenspan's errors as honest errors, but with statements like that, I'm nearly ready to buy into a conspiracy theory or two. All Americans should be really pissed at Alan Greenspan, but especially Republicans. He is a traitor to the Republican party and to conservatism generally.
On the other hand, let's ask ourselves whethe the NY Times has accurately reported that "Mr. Greenspan conceded a more serious flaw in his own philosophy that unfettered free markets sit at the root of a superior economy." It wouldn't be so shocking if the NY Times article could be read as a political hit piece designed to influence the election. Lord knows it wouldn't be the first time that newspaper has stepped over the line of objectivity.

It is time to rethink social media.
I don't understand how people can follow more than about 20 active Twitterers. For me, old guy that I am, when the # of twits goes above about 100 per day, I just can't follow it. The older ones scroll out of view and there is nothing that compels me to go looking for them. When I do scoll back, there is too much noise, and stuff that does not interest me is mixed randomly in the feed. I guess I"m suffering from information overload because of the dozens of information sources I try to monitor.
More and more, I'm drawn to aggregators, "rooms", and "feeds" where the people are known to me and the subject matter is known also. A Skype public chat for example.
With respect to Twitter and other social media, I'm learning that it's better to create multiple accounts if you twitter about more than one subject. People just don't want to read twitters that stray from the expected subject. I realize this defeats the whole purpose of social media, but my point is that I don't know of any social media that scale well. It's only going to get worse as Twitter and Facebook grow, and as commercial entities start to use them. It's time to rethink.

Saul Alinsky was the father of community organizing. Before Alinsky devised his diabolical plan to bring the international socialist revolution to America -- working within the very liberal and free system upon which the U.S. was founded -- he was an older fellow traveler and advisor to student radicals of the 1960s.
Alinsky was a sort of father figure, to whom many radicals turned in the aftermath of the infamous DNC Convention of 1968 in Chicago. His advice?
"Do one of three things. One, go find a wailing wall and feel sorry for yourselves. Two, go psycho and start bombing -- but this will only swing people to the right. Three, learn a lesson. Calm down. Forget "burning the system down." Organize. Organize. Organize. Work within the system. Become the delegates.
To further empower his advice to the young militants, Alinsky quoted the radicals' hero, Lenin:
"Power comes out of the barrel of a gun! is an absurd rallying cry when the other side has all the guns. Lenin was a pragmatist; when he returned to what was then Petrograd from exile, he said that the Bolsheviks stood for getting power through the ballot but would reconsider after they got the guns. Militant mouthings? Spouting quotes from Mao, Castro, and Che Guevara, which are as germane to our highly technological, computerized, cybernetic, nuclear-powered, mass media society as a stagecoach on a jet runway at Kennedy airport?" - Saul Alinsky; Rules for Radicals; p. xxi
At the time, however, some of the young radicals were still too filled with rage to stop burning and bombing. These fiery revolutionaries continued to wreak havoc on college campuses and in American cities. But the end of the Vietnam War brought a welcome sigh of relief to greater America.
It was time for the radicals to change tactics, and follow Alinsky's advice. They remained convinced of their destiny to be the ones to bring the U.S.A. into the fold of the international socialist collective. They began to organize, go to law school, run for public office, whittle away at traditional American institutions, and in all ways prepare for "The One," their closer.
Dr. Krauthammer refers to Obama's associations as "tolerance of the obscene". Indeed. But I disagree when he says Obama "doesn't share Rev. Wright's poisonous views of race nor Ayers' views...about the evil that is American society." Not only are his writings and speeches strewn with assent to those views, his remaining in the pews of Wright's church, baptizing his children, etc., imply assent.
It becomes more difficult for me to write to you these days with a difficult time of dialysis as diabetes advances. Now I must write at least this one last time. Bodie and Brock are gracious and let my voice of warning be heard.
I was a young girl in Germany and lived through difficult times. We have since then had a wonderful life. The world, as difficult as it has been, at least for many years remembered what happened politically in Germany with the Depression in the 1930s. You remember how it began and thus progressed with the horrors of war which followed.
The battle was at the beginning a Spiritual battle. You have read some parts of my story in the Zion Covenant, from growing up in Germany in the days when evil men prevailed and TRUTH was turned upside down. White became black through a barrage of propaganda and constant repetition of lies against those who spoke the truth.
Here is my warning to all: Perhaps it will be my last warning. (I wake up each day surprised that I am still here and not in heaven with those who wait for me!)
America and the whole world hangs in the balance now. I believe that America will stand or fall depending on who is elected President this year.
Good Americans, like the good Germans of my youth, may think that the issues of their nation center around the economy. I tell you now that the fate of the greatest nation on earth does not depend on money. Every issue must only be judged worthy and true by the Word of God. Prosperity comes to a nation and a people who serves the Lord first. That is a basic spiritual principle which is seen in every book of Holy Scripture.
"If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
This is where the healing of America begins: Friend, you must begin with examination of your own life first and the confession of your sins. Then pray for your nation. Ask yourself now: who supports the rights of the unborn babies and also of those who are handicapped? History tells us why this is critical:
In the Germany of my childhood, everyone worried about the economy. Paying bills. Buying bread. Money! And there were 1 million abortions in the year before Hitler came to power. (A drop in the bucket compared to America.) The excuse given for the murder of unborn babies was that economic times were hard. How could a family feed another mouth?
There followed the legalized forced sterilization of parents who had a handicapped child or who were judged "racially impure." Next came the legalized euthanasia of those who were handicapped. (An example of who would be killed is the Downs Syndrome child of Sarah Palin. He would have been killed immediately at birth.) Do we not see such choices carried out with tiny babies being strangled or left to die by abortionists today? Evil advances forward in America by law! This is done with the support of men and women in office who have sold their souls for power.
In those days in Germany all, who were, as I am now, elderly or ill, were gassed. These were all called "useless eaters." Christians and Jews who spoke out against this evil were labeled as radical "religious fanatics." A campaign of false accusation, slander and persecution began, targeting people of faith. It was "unpopular" to speak the TRUTH. (Were these persecuted Christians people like you?) Many were jailed and eventually killed. Some escaped with only their lives. Finally, by millions, Jews were hunted, imprisoned and killed. You know all this from the Zion Covenant books. I lived it.
Now, today, I hear the words and know the deeds of this Barack Obama and I know that he is a "gifted," convincing, fellow. He is telling you how bad > you have it and saying to Americans he is their messiah and the answer to all problems.
The propaganda machine loves Obama. The power of the media is much greater than in my childhood; a frightening thought. But here is TRUTH: of all men in the US government this Obama has most strongly encouraged and urged the on-going slaughter of the unborn"the useless mouths" of America. This slaughter is performed in the name of "A woman's reproductive rights."
In the land of my birth, the Holocaust all began with the first step of legalized abortion. Abortion was ENCOURAGED by a downturn in the world economics.
Scripture teaches us the survival of a nation is not about the economy. The only nation which will stand is the nation which follows the Lord and the true teachings of scripture.
I warn you, my dear American friends, with love in my heart and with my last breaths that no man or woman, Protestant or Catholic, can remain in God's favor or blessing if they vote for this Obama. This is a man who voted four times to leave tiny babies who survived abortions to die!
know many devout American Catholics in my life and many who have never voted for the Republicans because of tradition. Now I say that you who are Catholic must not follow after this man Obama who is gifted in his words but NOT speaking the TRUE WORDS OF OUR LORD OR THE CHURCH!
You cannot be a true Catholic Christian and vote for Obama. To vote for him is to vote for continued infanticide. To Protestant Christians, I say, you are not a Christian if you support the slaughter of the unborn!
Christianity and abortion are spiritually impossible companions. Protestants and Catholics MUST UNITE in this battle. The victory must be overwhelming! Do you feel you cannot vote for Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin, who are for the LIFE of the unborn and handicapped? If you cannot support these leaders, then for the sake of your soul, I, who have seen the spiritual destruction of many good people, Protestants and Catholics, urge you NOT TO VOTE for Obama or anyone who does not support protection of LIFE!
For all those American politicians who have the chance to change the course toward destruction, I who have been witness to national and worldwide tragedy, urge you protect those in your society who are the most helpless. Publicly deny your support of Obama. According to 2 Chronicles 7:14 you must turn your life around for the sake of your soul and your country!
To those politicians who use "FAITH" to get votes while they follow the path of destruction, I must speak this warning: "God will not be mocked."
If you, Christian, can vote, and if you can encourage others to vote, then you must VOTE FOR LIFE.
In the judgment of heaven, there is no other choice but LIFE and protection of the innocent for a Christian.
I am thankful to Bodie and Brock for letting me be heard once more. They agree with history and with the Truth of scripture. Most of my generation is gone now. You who are taking control of the world have a fight ahead of you as the memory of our peril dims. I have heard and listened closely to the voices of Sarah Palin and John McCain, and my spirit bears witness that they speak truth and are the true Hope-Bearers of your generation. Sarah is a true Deborah. Pray for her and her family and also for John McCain. You must all remember what happened to us and not repeat the same mistake of apathy.

Contrary to popular opinion, the Republican party is not controlled by "the Christian Right". It is rather a bird with one right wing and many left wings:
1. Ron Paul and Olympia Snow on left because of foreign policy issues 2. Rudi Giulianni and Arlen Specter on left because of pro-choice positions 3. GW Bush and McCain on left because of immigration issues.... and 4. Loads of Republicans on left because of pork and socialist welfare programs.
No. The problem with Republicans is precisely because they are NOT idealogically pure. The right wing of the party was ready to give up altogether until Palin came along, and she is really the only hope for the conservative purists.
By contrast, the Democratic party has in recent years become idealogically purified. There are no conservatives left there at all. The last person with any conservative leaning is Joe Lieberman, but he is now being drummed out of the party. "Cost" of the Bailout
The price tag is now set at $700 billion, but some say the bailout may exceed a trillion dollars. Many people have trouble even forming some notion of what trillion means. One way to get some idea of the magnitude of a trillion is to ask: How long ago was a trillion seconds? A trillion seconds ago, no one on this planet could read and write. Neither the Roman Empire nor the ancient Chinese dynasties had yet come into existence. None of the founders of the world's great religions today had yet been born. That's what a trillion means. Put a dollar sign in front of it and that's what the current bailout may cost.
Personally, I don't find the argument convincing. Sure, it's a big number, but to say that it is a "cost" is misleading. Is the $85 billion loan to AIG a "cost" to the American taxpayer? I think not. If the federal government prints a trillion new dollars and uses them to buy up bad mortgages at pennies on the dollar, it may well represent a good deal for the American taxpayer. An even better plan would be to suspend "mark-to-market" rules and just use the bailout money to insure the mortgages without taking them off anyone's balance sheet. That does not mean the bailout(s) is not inflationary. It most certainly is, and a trillion dollars of inflation is not a small amount.
Today, Oil is @ $97/barrel. Approaching 52 week low of $91, down from $146 a month ago. Stock market down 450 today (Dow), much of it in the last hour of trading. Gold jumps $100 in late afternoon trading.
My view: The oil crunch caused the mortgage crisis because people couldn't pay for gas and mortgage at the same time. So while the drop in oil comes too late for Freddie, Fannie, and Lehman, I'll bet the crisis is totally over. Private capital will be able to handle the cleanup. The stock market, which is off heavily today, will be much higher by election day. Meanwhile, gold's late afternoon surge corresponds to the stock market's late afternoon drop. Looks like manipulation to me, and so it will reverse itself tomorrow.

In Artful Dodger style, Barack Obama, plays down his mentorship with Communist author Saul Alinsky. But Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, credits Obama for “learning his lesson well” from the Communist guru.
Indeed, Alinsky Jr. who credits his late father for the success of last week’s Democratic National Convention, may have done something that Obama’s detractors couldn’t: blown the cover on the presidential hopeful’s communist leanings.
No one can blame Alinsky for the pretentiousness of the Ancient Greek Temple from which Obama addressed plebes, or for the tacky neon colours on display at the Pepsi Centre, but it was Alinsky who wrote Rules for Radicals, the bible of the far left.
Says Alinsky’s son L. David Alinsky of his father’s influence at the Dem Convention: “ALL the elements were present: the individual stories told by real people of their situation and hardships, the packed-to-the rafters crowd, the crowd’s chanting of key phrases and names, the action on the spot of texting and phoning to show instant support and commitment to jump into the political battle, the rallying selections of music, the setting of the agenda by the power people.” “The Democratic National Convention had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky style, the Communist guru’s son wrote in a letter published yesterday in the Boston Globe.
The Artful Dodger may be less than pleased that he has been pegged as a Saul Alinsky Poster Boy by the guru’s own son.

Indeed, Alinsky Jr. who credits his late father for the success of last week’s Democratic National Convention, may have done something that Obama’s detractors couldn’t: blown the cover on the presidential hopeful’s communist leanings.

5. Illinois Bar Application – Obama fails to acknowledge use of names other than Barack Hussein Obama, a blatant lie.
If Obama can prove U.S. citizenship, we still have the issue of muti-citizenship with responsibilities owed to and allegance to other countries.

Voters donated money, goods and services to elect a nominee and were defrauded by Senator Obama's lies and obfuscations. He clearly shows a conscience of guilt by his actions in using the forged birth certificate and the lies he's told to cover his loss of citizenship. We believe he does know, supported this belief by his actions in hiding his
secret, in that he failed to regain his citizenship and used documents to further his position as a natural born citizen. We would also show he proclaims himself a Constitutional scholar and lecturer, but did not learn he had no eligibility to become President except by means of lying, obfuscations and deceptions. Americans lost money, goods and services donated in their support of a candidate who supposedly was a natural born citizen simply because the DNC officers and party leaders looked the other way and did not demand credentials to answer the questions and prove whether or not Senator Obama was a legitimately natural born citizen, even in light of recent information that has surfaced on websites on the Internet suggesting Senator Obama may not be eligible to become President and questioning his status of multiple citizenships and questionable loyalties! If the DNC officers and.or leaders had performed one ounce of due diligence we would not find ourselves in this emergency predicament, one week away from making a person the nominee who has lost their citizenship as a child and failed to even perform the basic steps of regaining citizenship through an oath of allegiance at age eighteen [18] as prescribed by Constitutional laws!
The injunctrive relief must be granted because failing to do so, this inaction defrauds everyone who voted in the Democratic Primary for a nominee that is a fair representation of the voters. Failure to grant injunctive relief would allow a corrupted, fraudulent nomination process to continue. It not only allows, but promotes an overwhelming degree of disrespect and creates such a lack of confidence in voters of the primary process itself, so that it would cement a prevailing belief that no potential candidate has to obey the laws of this country, respect our election process, follow the Constitution, or even suffer any consequence for lying and defrauding voters to get onto the ballot when they have no chance of serving if they fraudulently manage to get elected! It is unfair to the country for candidates of either party to become the nominee when there is any question of their ability to serve if elected.
All judges are lawyers and held to a higher standard of practice than a regular lawyer. It is this Judicial standard that demands injunctive relief prayed for here. This relief is predicated upon one of the most basic premises of practicing law which states no lawyer can allow themselves to be used in furthering a criminal enterprise. And by that gauge alone, failing to give injunctive relief to the 18 million supporters of the other candidate, a true natural born citizen eligible to serve if elected, this court must not allow itself to be used to further the criminal and fraudulent acts to continue and be rewarded by becoming the Democratic Nominee. Failure to give the injunctive relief prayed for will insure that a corrupted Presidential election process will only guarantee a show of unfair preference of one group of people over another group by not demanding the same rules be applied to all groups equally and fairly, especially in light of the fact that both candidates are each considered a minority.

My fellow Americans, it is an honor to address the Democratic National Convention at this defining moment in history. We stand at a crossroads at a pivot point, near a fork in the road on the edge of a precipice in the midst of the most consequential election since last year’s “American Idol.” One path before us leads to the past, and the extinction of the human race. The other path leads to the future, when we will all be dead. We must choose wisely.
We must close the book on the bleeding wounds of the old politics of division and sail our ship up a mountain of hope and plant our flag on the sunrise of a thousand tomorrows with an American promise that will never die! For this election isn’t about the past or the present, or even the pluperfect conditional. It’s about the future, and Barack Obama loves the future because that’s where all his accomplishments are.
We meet today to pass the torch to a new generation of Americans, a generation that came of age amidst iced chais and mocha strawberry Frappuccinos®, a generation with a historical memory that doesn’t extend back past Coke Zero.
We meet today to heal the divisions that have torn this country. For we are all one country and one American family, whether we are caring and thoughtful Democrats or hate-filled and war-crazed Republicans. We must bring together left and right, marinara and carbonara, John and Elizabeth Edwards. On United we stand, on US Airways, there’s a 25-minute delay.
Ladies and gentleman, I never expected to be speaking before you today. Like so many of our speakers at this convention, I come from a hard-working, middle-class family. I was leading a miserable little life, but, nevertheless, overcame great odds to live the American Dream. My great-grandfather fought in Patton’s Army, along with Barack Obama’s great-grand uncles’ fourth cousin once removed.
As a child, I was abandoned by my parents and lived with a colony of ants. We didn’t have much in the way of material possession, but we did have each other and the ability to carry far more than our own body weights. When I was young, I was temporarily paralyzed in a horrible anteater accident, but I never gave up my dream: the dream of speaking at a national political convention so my speech could be talked over by Wolf Blitzer and a gang of pundits.
And today we Democrats meet in Denver, a suburb of Boulder, a city whose motto is, “A Taxi? You Must be Dreaming.” And in Denver, we Democrats showed America that we have cute daughters who will someday provide us with prestigious car-window stickers. We heard Hillary Clinton’s ringing endorsement of “the weak-looking thin guy who’s bound to lose.” We heard from Joe Biden, whose 643 years in the Senate make him uniquely qualified to talk to the middle class, whose family has been riding the Acela and before that the Metroliner for generations, who has been given a lifetime ban from the quiet car and who is himself a verbal train wreck waiting to happen.
We got to know Barack and Michelle Obama, two tall, thin, rich, beautiful people who don’t perspire, but who nonetheless feel compassion for their squatter and smellier fellow citizens. We know that Barack could have gone to a prestigious law firm, like his big donors in the luxury boxes, but he chose to put his ego aside to become a professional politician, president of the United States and redeemer of the human race. We heard about his time as a community organizer, the three most fulfilling months of his life.
We were thrilled by his speech in front of the Greek columns, which were conscientiously recycled from the concert, “Yanni, Live at the Acropolis.” We were honored by his pledge, that if elected president, he will serve at least four months before running for higher office. We were moved by his campaign slogan, “Vote Obama: He’s better than you’ll ever be.” We were inspired by dozens of Democratic senators who declared their lifelong love of John McCain before denouncing him as a reactionary opportunist who would destroy the country.
No, this country cannot afford to elect John Bushmccain. Under Republican rule, locusts have stripped the land, adults wear crocs in public and M&M’s have lost their flavor. We must instead ride to the uplands of hope!
For as Barack Obama suggested Thursday night, wherever there is a president who needs to tap our natural-gas reserves, I’ll be there. Wherever there is a need for a capital-gains readjustment for targeted small businesses, I’ll be there. Wherever there is a president committed to direct diplomacy with nuclear proliferators, I’ll be there, too! God bless the Democrats, and God Bless America!

Barack Obama's brother (OK... half-brother) George lives in a shanty town in Nairobi Kenya on what some have reported is less than $1 per day.
At the Saddleback forum, Barack said that he thinks America's greatest moral failure in his lifetime has been "that we still don't abide by that basic precept in Matthew that whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me." Barack got the Bible quotation right, but how does he square it with his treatment of his own flesh and blood brother? How does he get away with criticizing America.... especially its Christian base... with greed and lack of compassion?
